This site for anyone who is looking for informed, balanced and up-to-date reporting on Southend Council.

There are currently two types of reporting in Southend on its council.

First, there’s the rumour, scandal and often flagrant exaggeration published by various local news services. We all know that bad news sells papers. That’s why this reporting is often out of context, badly researched, and massively biased.

Then, there’s the PR spun out by the council itself in papers, local trade magazines and online. This, of course, is always good news.

There is currently no independent coverage of council news. This site aims to create such coverage, positioning itself between the scandal and the sugar-coated.
